TGA of Morris and Essex Counties has created a unique event to help raise funds for Roots & Wings while bringing the community together for a fun, active day outside. It’s a perfect event for kids and their families. Pledge to raise money for Roots & Wings, a New Jersey non-profit organization that provides safe housing and support to youth who have aged out of the child welfare system, then join us for a super-fun day of golf for kids ages 18 and under!
Unlike most tournaments, there is no entry fee or mandatory cost to the golfer, making this a perfect event for kids and their families. Where you would normally play 18 holes, you play 100! Read on though, because it’s easier than it sounds!

Golfers play in threesomes. Each golfer commits to raising, along with his or her team, a minimum of $1000 in pledges. We have everything that you’ll need to make this happen, including pre-printed pledge letters to send out to friends and family. Each player can recruit a caddie that can help them find balls, rake sand traps, and maybe even play a few holes for the golfer. Cool prizes are awarded to the top three fundraisers, and everyone who raises at least $500 gets free stuff!
Every golfer plays a minimum of three balls per hole in a mini-scramble. You tee off three balls, go to your own personal best ball, and hit three more. You continue this and before you know it you’ve played 100 holes while only physically walking 36.
